Beer-Marinated New York Strip Steak
Yields: 6 servings
1/4 cup soy sauce
1t. fresh chopped thyme
2 T. olive oil
3 large garlic cloves, minced
2 t. Dijon mustard
2 t. chopped fresh rosemary
2 t. Worcestershire sauce
2 t. coarsley ground black pepper
1/2 cup dark lager beer (Sam Adams)
2 1/2 lbs New York Strip Steak
Non stick vegetable oil spray
Whisk first 7 ingredients in medium bowl, then whisk in beer. Pour marinade into large ziploc bag. Add steaks, seal bag and chill 1 day (turning bag occasionally).
Spray large skillet or grill pan with non stick spray and heat over medium high heat. Remove steaks from marinade and pat dry; discard marinade.
Place steaks in hot skillet and cook until well browned, or until cooked to your preference of temperature. Transfer steaks to carving board, and let rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
Slice steaks thinly across grain. Arrange on patter, spoon any accumulated juices over and ENJOY!
